2011 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Camper Motorhome! New Build, Only 1 of 1 in the World
Like to go Camping 365 days a year? Like to be able to get off the "beaten path " while doing so? I also love the reliability of a Tacoma and the fuel efficiency. I looked and looked out there and couldn'tfind anything like it. So after a year of planning , thousands of dollars and over 500 hours , I built one! I took a 2011 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Crew Cab 4x4. I bought one that was lightly rolled over since i was going to be removing half the body. It does have a salvage title , but all the damaged stuff was removed or repaired. It had zero frame or engine damage. So I took the Tacoma and cut the cab behind the front doors and removed the bed as well. At that time i added the following suspension mods , the front is stock minus the addition of 2 inch levelers.
The rear has an added leaf spring , off road shocks and BOSS airbags. Also with all the planning , the weight distribution came out almost 50/50 at 2900 lbs over the rear and 2800 lbs over the front. It runs and drives excellent and is very quiet. The Camper is 10 feet long with the addition of 4 feet over the cab. The width is just under 7 feet wide so it can be parked in a standard parking space.
The interior height is 6'5 inches , i hate bending over in most campers! It is made with a 1 inch tubular steel frame , 1x2 inch wood studs and 5 mill wood siding. (the winner / new owner will get all pics and such during the build). The exterior is''rhino-lined so its VERY durable , dent resistant , water proof and easy to repair if you did damage it. The camper has 3 "fantastic fans " thru-out. Lots of light with all the windows. Dual camper batteries , Active solar panel keeps them charged up. 3000 watt power invertor w/ remote on off to run Microwave and re-fridge/freezer. Also any other items you may have. The solar monitor panel has 2 USB outs for phones , tablets , computers...Lighting is provided by 3 LED lights thru-out and use very little "juice ". Outside the entry door is a Solar powered porch light. Also at the flick of a switch you can turn on the big LED bar if needed. Also has a very large LED light bar upfront and the reverse lights are the LEDs mounted on the bumper.
It has a back up Camera in the rear view mirror. The Stove , Heater and Hot water heater are powered by propane. It has 16 gallons of fresh water and a 21 gallon grey tank.
No black water tank as the toilet is removable and hold 5 gallons of water. The bathroom has a small sink , mirror and shower. The rear dinette makes into a double bed that is over 6'7 inches tall. The upper bunk is also 4 feet wide by 6'7 tall as well. The Camper and all its components are new , as well as the Tires.
The completion date was this year , so its an assembled Motor-Home in 2017. Its registered and title in hand.
