This is a large lot of 38 antique, original issues of "The Illustrated News of the World" from the years 1891 (14 issues) and 1892 (24 issues). The issues contain amazing illustrations printed from the original blocks of the Illustrated London News. The majority of the issues come with their original light blue covers/wraps, which contain wonderfully illustrated advertisements. The issues contain serialized works by Mark Twain ("The Tramp Abroad Again" and "The German Chicago"), Henry James ("Greville Fane"), Thomas Hardy ("The Pursuit of the Well-Beloved - A Sketch of a Temperament"), Robert Louis Stevenson ("UMA; or The Beach of Falesa, Being the Narrative of a South-Sea Trader") and others.

The issues measure 16 1/2" tall x 12" wide. The issues are as follows. April 25, June 27, July 18, July 25, August 8, October 10, October 17, October 24, October 31 (back cover present but not stapled). 1892 (24 issues): January 2, January 9, January 23, May 28, July 2, July 9, July 16, July 23, August 6, August 20, August 27, September 3, September 17, September 24, October 1, October 8, October 15, October 22, November 5, November 19, December 3, December 10, December 17, December 31.
