Designed and made by English ceramics artist Gary Seymour. This steampunk looking teapot is inspired more by Victorian etchings and ink drawings made at the time when the famous War of the Worlds novel first came out rather than a contemporary Hollywood version of a spacecraft.
Decorated in a weathered copper lustre with plenty of rivets thrown in it looks like a piece of Victoriana. The base scene depicts a city skyline ablaze after being attacked by the Martian war machines and also represents a sense of scale as the Martian craft was over 100 ft tall! The spout is at the front where the ray gun is and the lid is the visual tricolour'eye' on top. Size approx:26 cm high (10 inch) by 18 cm x 18 cm wide(7 x7 inch).
