1924 Edition of an Atlas of the World. Lots of photos, several in color. 384 pages plus another 47 of index.

The color illustrations are heavy on World War One content because it had ended just 6 years before this was published. Interesting to see the differences in the civilized world between then and now.

I felt that the photos, which I have not changed, sufficiently showed the damage it has sustained over a century. Gouges, scrapes, punctures--it looks as if it went through a meat grinder. YET, it is structurally sound, despite a page or three up front being loose.

Furthermore, it was written at a time which in hindsight was near the beginning of the spike on the'hockey stick' graph of human history. There is a line or two about photo credits, but no book publisher. I haven't searched every single page, but... I've spent most of my life buried in books, and I'm speechless at the moment also, I suffered another small stroke last week, so there's that--my vocabulary is failing me. Anyway, once again, thanks whoever you are or were, for giving me the opportunity and impetus to take a closer look. I see reprints on Abebooks but no other 1924 copies.
