This 1 Oz Gold coin is the fourth issue of the "New Seven Wonders of the World" series, dedicated to the legendary monuments that have gone down in history, and commemorates the Jordanian rock city of Petra, one of the world's most famous archaeological sites, where ancient Eastern traditions blend with Hellenistic architecture. Petra is referred to as the "Rose City" because of the color of the stones used in its buildings, and was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.

This coin has a Proof Quality and comes in a black leather case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage of only 200 pieces worldwide. The reverse of the coin features the Al-Khazneh Temple, a gorgeous building, better known as the "Treasury", along with the inscription: "PETRA" - the name of the coin. On the obverse, which is common to the entire series, all the new seven wonders of the world: the Brazilian statue of Christ the Saviour, the Jordanian rock city of Petra, the Mayan city of Chichén Itzá in Mexico, the Roman Colosseum, the Indian monument of the Taj Mahal, the Inca seat of Machu Picchu in Peru and the Great Wall of China. The obverse depicts also the Public Seal of Niue and the inscriptions: "50 DOLLARS" - the face value, and "2024" - the year of issue.
