This is a rare, original 1976 Poster by Saul Steinberg, done using'offset-lithography'. This "The New Yorker" poster is unsigned and from the original printing edition of 10,000. It is arguably Saul Steinberg's most famous composition. It is a view of the world from Ninth Avenue, New York City.
It first appeared on the cover of The New Yorker on March 29, 1976. DIMENSIONS: This offset poster is commonly and erroneously listed as 40" or 40.5" in length/height. If untrimmed and true, the length is actually closer to 40.75 as is this example. CONDITION: This poster/litho was never folded. It has only wear commensurate with age. Some thumbing, creasing and edge wear but nothing egregious and certainly no signs of abuse or neglect. It spent it's entire life here in Southern California where the mild climate and moderate seasonal fluctuation tends to be more forgiving to ephemera compared to more weather-volatile regions of the U.
